Green Tara (Chittamani Tara) is a feminine manifestation of enlightened energy; it is very well known in Tibetan Buddhism. There are 21 manifestations of Tara; the best known are the white and green tara. The seven eyes in the head, palms of the hands and soles of the feet are characteristic of their appearance. In her right hand she holds the stem of a blue lotus.
In all Buddhist spiritual communities, the 21 verses of Tara are recited every month to pacify and overcome all obstacles. Reciting the Green Tara mantra heals all known and unknown fears. Her mantra is: OM TARE TUTTARE TURE SVAHAM (pronounced: Soham).
