Myrtle, also known as bridal myrtle, is an evergreen shrub common in the Mediterranean region. Myrtle leaves and berries are aromatic. The myrtle was dedicated to Aphrodite and is still tied into bridal bouquets today. Angel water, "Eau d'anges", was their distilled water, which is said to produce a flawless complexion. In natural medicine, myrtle is used for skin problems and respiratory problems.
