Selenite and satin spar
Many products on the market labeled as Selenite are actually made from satin spar. Selenite is a fairly transparent crystal, while satin spar is more white in color. The name Selenite comes from the Greek moon goddess Selene, because of the soft moon-like shimmer when exposed to light.
