Ylang-Ylang is a tropical tree with intensely fragrant whitish-yellow flowers that is cultivated in Madagascar, Reunion and the Comoros. In its natural environment, the YlangYlang tree grows to a height of 10-30 m, but in cultivation it is pruned to a height of 2-3 m. Distillation of the flowers takes up to 20 hours. Ylang-ylang is an important raw material for perfumery.
